Description

Theta Tau active members provided alcohol to minors and hazed new members by encouraging/coercing consumption of alcohol. New members were subjected to blindfolding, scavenger hunts, required tasks to obtain signatures and confiscation/restricted use of electronic devices.

Rules Violations

  • Article III.D.(3) – Alcohol
  • Article III.B.(2)a. – Hazing
  • Article III.B.(2)b. – Knowledge of Hazing

Findings

Hazing: Consumption of Alcohol; Physical Threat; Mental Health Threat; Lack of Access to Personal Items (Phones); Sensory Deprivation

Sanctions

  • Disciplinary Probation from 5/12/22 to 12/12/2023
  • Loss of social privileges from 8/12/2022 to 12/31/2022
  • All active members must complete online hazing prevention module
  • Chapter must complete Theta Tau alcohol education module
  • Chapter must develop and provide copy of risk management plan
